The Principles for Responsible Investment – PRI is a network of investors supported by the United Nations, which work to promote a more sustainable financial system.

It has developed six principles, signatories are expected to adhere to, so that the global financial system can become more sustainable.

  • Principle 1: We will incorporate ESG issues into investment analysis and decision-making processes.
  • Principle 2: We will be active owners and incorporate ESG issues into our ownership policies and practices.
  • Principle 3: We will seek appropriate disclosure on ESG issues by the entities in which we invest.
  • Principle 4: We will promote acceptance and implementation of the Principles within the investment industry.
  • Principle 5: We will work together to enhance our effectiveness in implementing the Principles.
  • Principle 6: We will each report on our activities and progress towards implementing the Principles

The PRI has a number of resources on environmental, social and governance issues and has developed investment tools such as guidelines and case studies to support investors incorporate ESG issues into investment decision making for every asset class in a systematic way.

The PRI academy has a number of courses developed in order for invertors maximize the application of ESG elements in investment practices.
